Dr Karen Kotschy has been an independent monitoring, evaluation and learning practitioner for the past 10 years. Her work focuses on promoting learning and adaptation in complex environmental programmes at a range of scales, from local to global. This has included the RESILIM-O Programme in the Olifants River catchment and the Tsitsa Project in the Eastern Cape. These two large, multi-year, multi-stakeholder programmes placed particular emphasis on building resilience to climate, water, biodiversity and governance challenges. Since then, her work has focused on helping organisations and collectives to design monitoring and evaluation systems and practices that are both practical and useful in helping them to achieve the results they really want. Karen shares her experiences in practice through academic papers, policy briefs and presentations.
