Johnson Mandlendoda was born in Lady Grey and studied at Port Elizabeth Technical College. After an illustrious career in correctional services, he ventured into farming with his brother Lizo, and is currently farm manager at Geluk Farm. The farm specialises in Bonsmara cattle, Merino and Dohne Merino sheep, and Angora goats, and is a certified breeding farm and wool and mohair producer.  Geluk Farm has a partnership with the Mohair Empowerment Trust (MET). FirstRand sponsored the farm with seven rams and 135 ewes. Johnson’s aim is to set up a Mohair Training Centre. He currently has 70 students undergoing practical training on the farm for their diplomas.
