Lynette Maart has extensive experience in the non-profit and heritage sectors. Lynette is currently the national director of Black Sash, a position that she has held since 2013. Prior to this, she was the deputy director of the Robben Island Museum. Lynette was co-chairperson of the Ministerial Task Team established in 2014 to stop unlawful and unauthorised debit deductions from social grants and has provided strategic leadership for the successful Hands Off Our Grants campaign. In 2014, she received an award from Human Settlements’ Minister, Connie September, for innovative urban policy development while serving as an executive member of Cape Areas Housing Action Committee.
