Peter Varndell serves as Chief Executive Officer of the NEPAD Business Foundation (NBF). Previously, as Programme Manager for NBF’s Africa Infrastructure Desk, he provided leadership on the North South Corridor Rail Project, a collaborative effort among seven SADC region rail operators. Peter also acts as Executive Secretary for both the Strategic Water Partner Network and SADC Business Council. His professional career spans over 20 years in infrastructure development, with expertise in transport, energy, and water sectors. Peter’s work emphasises economic development and stakeholder engagement to achieve inclusive, sustainable socio-economic growth across Africa. He is a chartered civil engineer, holding a B.Eng. Civil Engineering degree and membership in the Institution of Civil Engineers UK.
