Tracey Malawana is a human rights activist. She is currently serving as the deputy general secretary at Equal Education. She believes that every government has a responsibility to invest in quality and equal education for its citizens. Tracey is an Atlantic Senior Fellow for Health Equity at Tekano and was awarded a PHILA award by the Public Health Association of South Africa as the 2018 emerging leader in public health. She is the founder of Healthy Living Alliance, leading one of the biggest campaigns to legislate tax on sugary drinks. She is also an Oxbridge Academy graduate and is completing her studies in Public Relations Management through UNISA and Public Policy through the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute.
