Date of work: 2022

Momentum Metropolitan has over 16 000 employees that it encourages to participate in staff volunteering programmes organised by the CSI department or in their spare time. In June 2022, Momentum Metropolitan undertook a strategic review and revamp of the Group’s Staff Volunteerism Programme (SVP) strategy.

The strategy review was facilitated by Trialogue and included a desktop review of the current Momentum Metropolitan SVP, interviews with Momentum Metropolitan executives, and focus groups with Momentum Metropolitan staff – both volunteers and non-volunteers. The strategy formulation process included a workshop to present the findings from the review and engagement process and discussions to agree on the revised strategy. The revised SVP strategy was drafted based on the workshop outcomes and presented to the Momentum Metropolitan Foundation for their input before finalisation.

Momentum Metropolitan has been implementing the revised strategy ever since. The CSI team has worked closely with human capital to do a series of SVP road shows, and to give staff the opportunity to select organisations to support through payroll giving. Participation rates have increased as a result. Group exco has also approved an employee volunteer leave policy, and the volunteering portfolio continues to go from strength to strength.

“I was very happy with the quality of work and advice that was delivered … I value the knowledge and experience and vast relationships and exposure of Trialogue.”
