2023-2024
In 2023, the IDC appointed Trialogue to assist with the compilation of its annual CSI report. The report aimed to reflect how the IDC leverages its impact and contributes to the communities in which it operates, as well as how it aligns with relevant Sustainable Development Goals.
Trialogue worked closely with the IDC, and took the following approach:
- Conducted a CSI programme document review of previous CSI reports as well as the CSI policy and strategy and project reports
- Applied Trialogue’s Strategy Review Framework and the Strategic Positioning Matrix to available CSI programme information
- Identified five key thematic areas reflecting IDC’s CSI approach
- Held site visits or interviews with key stakeholders from five projects reflecting these themes
- Interviewed six CSI stakeholders within the IDC
- Drafted, circulated and revised the report based on stakeholder feedback
Based on the current structure and style of the CSI programme, the report took on a qualitative, descriptive approach, and highlighted the developmental themes that underpin the IDC’s CSI work. These include the development and strengthening of internal and external partnerships to reinforce the impact of CSI initiatives, a focus on youth and women empowerment, and support for development partners and initiatives in lesser developed areas. These themes are represented by five case studies which give voice to programme beneficiaries and their experiences.
The report closes with review findings, recommendations and reflections on the strategic outlook for 2025. The IDC will publish the report and is considering the recommendations and looking to address them in the coming year.
“I was pleased with the report and recommendations provided by Trialogue. Their expertise in the sector, methodology, and approach were all commendable.”
