Standard Bank Tutuwa Community Foundation
Date of work: 2025

“The Trialogue team was lovely, efficient, and professional. They didn’t just take information and convert it to text, rather it felt like we were dealing with a team that knew what they were doing and that gave good advice around messaging and themes for the report.”
-Tracey Henry: Chief Executive Officer, Tutuwa Community Foundation
The Tutuwa Community Trust was formed in 2004 as part of the Standard Bank Group’s black ownership initiative. The Trust enabled the establishment in 2016 of a nonprofit company, The Standard Bank Tutuwa Community Foundation, as a separate entity from the bank’s corporate social investment initiatives. Between 2016 and 2019, the foundation supported interventions in early childhood development, schooling and youth work readiness. In May 2019, it officially launched its investment approach for social change. Since then, it has focused on seeding and supporting programmes that make a difference to the plight of young people who are not in education, employment or training.
Trialogue was retained to compile the Tutuwa Community Foundation’s inaugural decennial report showcasing the evolution and impact of the work of the foundation over the ten-year period 2015 – 2024.
Trialogue began by reviewing programme information. A workshop was then held with the Tutuwa team to determine key messaging, impact stories to include and positioning of the report. This process informed the structure and elements of the report. Programme information obtained via a desktop review and interviews with stakeholders was used for the content of the report, which Trialogue drafted.
The report was launched at the outgoing CEO’s, Ms Zanele Twala, farewell event. It will be used as part of the foundation’s broader thought leadership activities.
